Residents within the PL35 postal area will be able to apply to the CIC for a yearly “CIC parking permit” which will allow for 20-minute free parking in any of the marked bays in the lower car park. The permits are offered on the basis of fair use – to enable local residents to access and support their local business community. This should allow for permit holders to freely enjoy their village’s offering whether it is to pop to the post office, grab some fresh baked goods, find the perfect presents in any of the retail shops or pop in and make a table booking at one of the eateries. Having the dedicated spaces will allow users to park safely, rather than on the busy curb side, and without the need to pay at the machine.
Due to rising operational costs and the uncertainty surrounding future funding, it has been necessary to introduce a nominal charge of £2 per permit to cover costs. While this decision was not taken lightly, it ensures that the scheme remains viable and contributes to the sustainability of CIC-managed services.
Donations towards the permit project are also welcome to ensure the CIC projects are sustainable. Look out for the donations tin when collecting your permit.
If you need further support in this matter, please email the CIC or speak to a community volunteer at the Regatta shop.
